The temperature was chilly and a little bit of light rain here and there, but it was typical November football weather. Turkey Bowl II took place Thanksgiving Day at Miola Field at ICC.
Last year, the Turkey Bowl began with a pick-up flag football game. It was a fun time so it was decided to play again this year for the second consecutive year. The Turkey Bowl, a flag football game suitable for all ages, consisted of families and friends ranging from elementary school children to adults. The field was set up in the outfields of the softball diamonds behind the shrine out back.
By the end of the hour-and-a-half game, everyone had a fun time and some good exercise. It is a time to just go out and enjoy yourself on Thanksgiving and spend time with fellow parishioners in a fun and friendly, yet competitive, game of flag football. All skill levels are invited to play; no one stands on the sidelines.
We hope to continue the Turkey Bowl each Thanksgiving Day and make it a long standing tradition of ICC. See you next year for Turkey Bowl III!
