The Parish Life Committee at ICC is responsible for planning and implementing most parish sponsored social and fellowship events.  These events include, but are not limited to the following:

 

We have also provided the refreshments at various events sponsored by other parish ministries, including the PSR programs.

We also support and sponsor the Summer Vacation Bible School Program, along with volunteers from Parish Life and PSR, as well as the ICC Youth Group and the Music Ministry, among others.

Parish Life also provides the supplies for all parish hospitality needs, as well as for funeral receptions.

Spiritual Development Commission

The mission of Spiritual Development Commission is one of action and involvement.  In the Parish Life we strive to provide opportunity for everyone, as disciples of Christ, to learn & grow in their faith.  We desire to be of service through prayer, literature, and sponsoring special events that are both traditional & new to the life of the Parish.  It is our goal to experience and share God’s love with others through our service to the Church and in our personal lives.

As a Commission that reports directly to Pastoral Council and our Pastor, we oversee the Gift Store, Healing Ministry, Lectors, Liturgy, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Eucharistic Prayer & Praise, Music, Guitar Group, Choir, and Pre-Baptism.  We serve the Parish by planning & organizing Mercy Sunday, & Parish Missions.  We also provide literature throughout the year and offer various opportunities to enter into the Church seasons of Advent & Lent.  This Commission also runs the ICC Gift Store, located in the Parish Center.  The store contains many religious goods including Rosaries, Statues, framed art, Holy Cards, and many other fit items for all occasions.  We accept donations and all proceeds go back in the Parish.  We are always in need of new people to serve and share ideas with this Commission.  We meet twice a month on Saturdays all year except over the summer, we meet once a month.

 

Consolation Ministry

 Mission: “To bring the consoling and healing love of Christ to members of our parish family suffering from any type of loss, illness, or pain.”

 This important ministry within our church is made up of caring members of our parish family who have a passion for helping and healing.  This commission was formed with members of the healing ministry who, through prayerful care, plan and coordinate the monthly healing mass at Immaculate Conception. 

The second part of the Consolation Ministry is made up of parishioners who, with the help of the parish priest, work with families experiencing the pain of loss.  They work to prepare every aspect of the funeral service, from helping a family pick the readings and music for the funeral mass to helping coordinate the luncheon that follows.  The aftercare portion of this commission walks with each family through the painful and confusing months that follow.  Through a series of letter writing, phone calls and personal visits, compassionate members strive to lesson the pain of the loss.  The wellness team within this ministry will often step in to provide helpful tips on the importance of monitoring diet and exercise during a difficult and stressful time.  The ultimate goal of the Consolation Ministry is to help our brothers and sisters to know they are never alone through the difficult journey of grief.

The commission on Evangelization consists of the following groups:  Men’s Renewal, Woman’s Renewal, Youth Renewal Retreats and Life in the Spirit Seminars, Health and Wellness Ministries and the Madison Ministerial Society in connection with the Food Bank.  We are currently looking into other Retreats and monthly Seminars to help advance our Parish Community’s Spiritual Life.  We are interested in all your thoughts and ideas and welcome your input in any of these areas.  Please remember that Evangelization (or the outreach and growth of our Parish) not only is about seeking out and bringing others to Christ, but to start first by God deeper into our own lives.  When anything in creation fulfills its purpose, it brings Glory to God.

The many faceted Education Commission of Immaculate Conception Church strives to meet the religious education needs of all our parishioners.

Child's Liturgy - During Sunday's 11:00AM Mass, children in grades Kindergarten through sixth have the opportunity to hear God's Word in a way they can understand and actively participate in the Liturgy. After the opening prayer the children are called to the Altar and a Catechist leads the children to a separate area to hear and discuss the readings. They return during the offertory procession.

PSR - The Parish School of Religion (PSR) is a Catholic education program that assists parents in teaching the Catholic faith and traditions to their children, as well as helping to strengthen our church community.  Grades 1-5 use the Walking by Faith curriculum.  Grades 6-8 follow the EDGE program.  All classes are taught by our church volunteers.
