Year of Saint Francis
A special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi has been proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV in honor of the 800-year anniversary of the saint's entry into eternal rest.
From Pope Leo XIV:
In commemorating the significant anniversary of the eighth centenary of his passing, I wish to join spiritually with the entire Franciscan Family and with all those who will take part in the commemorative events, hoping that the message of peace may find a profound echo in the Church and society today.
From the Vatican's decree:
In recent years, other important Jubilees have concerned the person and the words of the Saint of Assisi: the eighth centenary of the creation of the first Nativity Scene in Greccio, the composition of the Canticle of the Creatures, hymn to the holy beauty of creation, and the impression of the Holy Stigmata, which took place on Mount Verna, almost a new Calvary, two years before his death. The year 2026 will mark the culmination and fulfilment of all the preceding celebrations: indeed, it will be the Year of Saint Francis and we are all called to become saints in the contemporary world, following the example of the Seraphic Patriarch.
This Franciscan Jubilee Year, considered a gift for the entire Church and an occasion for authentic spiritual renewal, was inaugurated on January 10, and runs through January 10 of 2027. During this time, the faithful have the opportunity to obtain plenary indulgences – a special grace of God’s mercy – under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, detachment from sin, Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the pope, by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the most precious gift of the Holy Eucharist. We ask You to bless all those who are preparing to receive Your Body and Blood for the first time.
The work of religious education is very important, especially for those who are learning about You while preparing to make their First Holy Communion. You wish all who receive You in the Eucharist to know and believe that they are truly consuming Your Body and Blood.
Please assist all who are preparing to make their First Holy Communion, and we particularly ask today that You help all who work in sacramental preparation to do their work well!
Help us to grow in love for You each day of our lives. Help us to strive to serve You devotedly at all times.
And I especially ask in this novena (mention your intentions here). Lord, hear our prayers!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our Poor Clare family is made up of cloistered contemplative nuns who serve the church and the world mainly by a life of prayer, and our extern sisters who are also called to minister to the community by meeting its external needs. All the sisters live one life in common, united in bonds of sisterly affection and shared activities.
As daughters of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, we are called to live the Holy Gospel, simply and plainly, according to the Form of Life they gave us.
